Induction Stove Top

For this induction cooktop to work you will need to use pots and pans containing iron. All the cooktop cookware provided in the kitchen are meant for use with this cooktop.

Induction cooktops like the one installed in our kitchen provide fast heat and great temperature control. The cooktop may look like typical glass-top electric cooktop, but it works through magnetic induction. If you turn the cooktop on no pot on it by mistake, it won’t get hot. The surface never gets as hot as it would on a radiant electric range; the heat is created from within the pot or pan itself; as soon as you remove it from a burner, that heating stops.

Food cooks faster on this cooktop than you may be used to, only gas burners with very high BTU ratings can cook faster. It directly heats the pot or pan that you are using. Not only will it heat up faster, but it will also cool down faster - you may want to take this into account when you are using this to cook according to recipe.

The cooktop will make buzzing or humming sounds this gets louder at higher settings - this is normal. You will also hear some clicking sounds of the element electronics at lower settings, as well as the sound of the cooling fan for the electronics.

The fridge provides fresh filtered water, filters are located in the metal racks in the workshop - please do not replace the filter ONLY if the indicator shows that the expiry date is reached.
